WHAT IS AN ACTION GROUP?
Action Groups are the life of OPIRG York! Each group works autonomously on anti-oppressive, anti-colonial, anti-imperialist, and environmental justice campaigns and issues. Whether your vision for a just future centers around socialism, anarchism, anti-colonialism, anti-racism, a just climate transitions, or something entirely different—OPIRG wants to resource and nurture your work toward justice!
OPIRG York is committed to change at York University, North York, and beyond. We work to bridge student organizing with grassroots activism to ensure broad social and environmental change. Our Action Groups can be based at York Keele campus, or in the broader community as well. Our priority is creating opporunities for newer activists to learn, practice community organizing skills, and participate in collective organizing.
