Cultural Dance Collective (CDC)
The Cultural Dance Collective (CDC) is a student-led initiative dedicated to the education and celebration of diverse cultural dance styles and traditions. The group seeks to offer dance workshops, with a focus on various traditional and contemporary dance styles that represent the York community. The primary goal of the CDC is to create a space where students (centering women and genderqueer folk) can move, learn, and engage with different cultures through movement while promoting inclusivity, diversity, and artistic expression.
Workshops will be led by both student instructors and guest professionals, covering dance styles such as
- Egyptian-style belly dance
- Latin Dance
- Dance hall
- Bollywood

This group operates as a free wellness initiative for women and gender queer folks and a safe space for people who are generally underrepresented or otherwise excluded from dance.

The Cultural Dance Collective is an action group dedicated to inspiring dance, fostering cultural pride and physical expression. They seeking volunteer dance instructors of any style who are passionate about sharing dance with the local community.
As of now, this is a volunteer opportunity and they will support you in creating a volunteer schedule that suits your availability and will offer a reference/recommendation for any future opportunities and endeavours.
